Save Energy Now, a portal for the Energy Saving Plan, a BC-wide building energy efficiency enhancement pilot project, launched on March 31, 2006. The web site will help to connect home owners, landlords, builders and commercial building managers throughout the province of British Columbia to information and incentives which will help them to make their existing buildings more energy efficient. The pilot project aims to effect energy savings of 60,000 Gigajoules over the course of a year.
Cielo worked closely with the Save Energy Now project team to build the new site in under a week. The site is deployed on the open-source Drupal content management/web application framework. It features a database of financial incentives, designed to be easily searched by building and project type, eligibility, and other criteria; partners and suppliers can easily add new incentives to the database.
